Custom CNC-Routed Foam Inserts
Multi-cavity foam machined to your exact geometry, so every fragile or high-value item seats in its own pocket and stays put.
We cut PE, PU, and EVA foam on CNC routers to a repeatable ±0.5 mm tolerance. That precision means a snug, engineered fit across the whole run — not a loose approximation that lets your product rattle. Send dimensions, a CAD file, or a sample, and we design the cavity layout and cut a proof before you commit.

Overview
Precision foam for the products you cannot afford to break
Custom CNC-routed foam inserts are the answer when an item is too fragile, too heavy, or too valuable to trust to loose fill or a generic pad. A CNC router traces your exact cavity geometry into a foam block, carving pockets that match the silhouette of each component. The result is a nest that holds a lens, a circuit board, a surgical instrument, or a machined part in a fixed position, absorbing shock instead of passing it through. When a customer opens the box, nothing has shifted, nothing is scratched, and the presentation looks engineered because it was.
Why it beats the commodity version
Off-the-shelf foam pads and bubble wrap protect by luck. They fill space but do not locate the product, so items migrate in transit, collide with box walls, and concentrate impact on their weakest edge. Routed foam replaces guesswork with geometry. Each cavity is sized to the part with just enough interference to grip it, and the surrounding foam wall is tuned in density to the weight it carries. We select from PE for firm, structural support, PU for soft cushioning on delicate finishes, and EVA where a cleaner, denser wall is preferred. Because the toolpath is digital, the two-hundredth unit is cut to the same ±0.5 mm tolerance as the first.
Fabrication and durability
We start from your dimensions, a CAD file, or a physical sample, and our engineers propose a cavity map and a foam density before anything is cut. A router then machines the pockets, and multi-layer builds let us create deep or stepped cavities for tall components. Foam density is the real durability lever: a 1.2 lb/ft³ grade is light and forgiving for a lightweight accessory, while a 9.0 lb/ft³ grade carries serious weight without bottoming out under a drop. Closed-cell PE resists moisture and repeated compression, so inserts that get opened and closed daily in the field keep their shape and their grip for the life of the case.
Typical order scenarios
A hardware startup ships a single routed prototype to validate fit before a production run. A medical distributor orders three hundred nests for a diagnostic instrument, each with a labeled cavity for the device and its accessories. An optics brand runs a recurring order of retention foam that locates a scope, its rings, and a cleaning kit in one tray. Whether you need twenty-five units to test the market or thousands on a schedule, the same engineered fit scales with your volume, and unit pricing improves as the run grows. Tell us what you ship and we will return a design proof, usually within one business day, so you can see the fit before you buy.
Best Fit
Who this insert suits
Boards and devices held firm
Routed pockets locate PCBs, sensors, and finished devices so nothing shifts or shorts against a box wall in transit.
Instrument nests, cleanly presented
Precise cavities for diagnostics and instruments, with density chosen for weight and repeated handling.
Delicate finishes protected
Soft-wall PU and firm PE nests cradle lenses, machined parts, and calibrated tools without marking them.
